UMPIRE-IN-CHIEF'S MESSAGE
To realize a successful and positive experience in playing little league baseball, there requires the active involvement of many people contributing their time, skills and willingness to many areas of responsibility, including:
Several years ago, Cochrane began an Umpire development initative, in which several boys and fathers began the process of learning the skills to be effective baseball umpires. This is an ongoing learning experience in which we are very fortunate to have the resources of the Calgary Area Baseball Umpires Association (CABUA) at our disposal.
Clinics are held every spring to refresh the prospective Umpires in their knowledge of the rules of the game and mechanics entailed in executing their duties efficiently and accurately. Clinics are held in March and April for level I through III. If you are interested in participating in Little League baseball as an Umpire, please email to contact_info@cochraneminorball.ca.
Looking forward to a new season,
Geoffrey Anacker
Umpire-In-Chief for Cochrane Minor Ball
